Glass. Variable Size
This work delves into the depths of Mai's personal experiences and the intricate emotions they evoke, utilizing the symbolic mediums of flowers and glass. The work was born out of a relationship between an artist and her female lover that was not accepted by their families. She wanted to give flowers to her girlfriend on Valentine's Day, but could only deliver them secretly at night to avoid being found. The series of glass flowers was inspired by the flowers she had given to her girlfriend. She hopes that one day their love will be as transparent as glass. In creating this piece, Mai drew inspiration from T.S. And the line that became the title for this work: That corpse you planted last year in your garden, Has it begun to sprout?"
Mai is still confused about emotions and life, but believes someday flowers will bloom from this dead Land and corpse.
